多文化共生講座を行いました　Lecture for Understanding MULTICULTURALISM

●令和2年11月9日（月）、1年生のHRでは、毎年行っている「多文化共生講座」を実施しました。この講座では、西尾市に住む外国人についての説明や、外国ルーツの先輩の体験談を聞きます。

●定時制は約6割の生徒が外国につながりをもっています。日本人の生徒も、外国につながりをもつ生徒も、互いの文化や言語を共有し、助け合って共生していくことを、日々大切にしています。

●今回はフィリピンとブラジルにルーツをもつ先輩からも話を聞きました。来日した時の不安や、日本で目標を見つけたこと、日本語支援に関わるようになった話などを、話していただきました。

●生徒の感想の一部です。「何も知らない国に来て、こうして夢をかなえている人の話をきいて、自分ももっと努力して目標にたどりつけるようにがんばろうと思いました。」「自分自身について前向きになれなかったけど、話を聞いて勇気が出たし、希望をもらいました。どこで、どうやって始めたかではなく、努力と決断が大切なんだと思いました。」

On November 9th(Mon), 1st graders listened to the lecture to understand multiculturalism.  In this lecture, three lecturers gave a speech about the foreign residents in Nishio and their experience as a foreigner who came to Japan when they were small.

About 60 % of our students are from abroad.  We encourage them to respect each cultures and languages and help each other to grow up.

We had lectures from seniors who have roots in the Philippines and Brazil.  They talked about their anxiety when they came to Japan, finding a goal in Japan, and becoming involved in Japanese language support.

Students’ comments:

They came to a country where they didn’t know anything.  Today I  listened to the stories of people who were fulfilling their dreams, and decided to work harder to reach my goals.

I wasn’t sure about myself but the lecture inspired me and gave me hope.  It doesn’t matter where or how you started, it’s about hard work and determination.
