多文化共生講座を開きました　Learned multiculturaism

●11月11日（月）、1年生のHRで、多文化共生講座を開きました。本校に外国人生徒教育支援員として勤務していただいている、2名の先生からお話を聞きました。

●まず、ポルトガル語の支援員の菊地先生から、西尾市の外国人人口についてや、外国籍生徒の支援状況などを説明していただきました。次に、タガログ語支援員のレイエス先生から、外国籍生徒としての経験を話していただきました。レイエス先生は15歳で来日し、ゼロから日本語を勉強した後、この春に大学を卒業されました。

●生徒の感想には「やっぱり勉強は大事だと思った。」「自分のやりたい仕事ができるように、日本語や勉強をもっとがんばる。」というものがありました。

●外国籍生徒にとって、手本となる人から話を聞くことは、将来について考え、目標を持つためにとても役立ちます。とても充実した講座となりました。

On November 11, we had a lecture about learinig multiculturalism for 1st graders.  Two teachers who support our foreign students gave a lecture.  First, Ms.Kikuchi who worked as a Portuguese language suppporter explained the situation of foreign children in Japan and also in Nishio.  Next, a tagalog language supporter, Mr.Reyes talked about his experience as a foreign student.  He graduated from university this spring even though he came to Japan when he was 15 and started to learn Japanese from scratch.

Students’ comments:“ I think that studying is very important after all.””I will try harder to get a job that I want to do.”

It is very useful for foreign students to listen to the person who struggled to make his dream come true to think about their future and have their own goal. It was a very productive lecture.
